Certified Diagnostic Technician & Founder of Mechanic Base

Hi, I’m Magnus Sellén, and I’m a certified automotive diagnostic technician and the founder of Mechanic Base. I’ve spent more than ten years working in professional workshops, diagnosing and repairing vehicles from brands such as Volkswagen, Audi, BMW, and Mercedes-Benz.
Before starting Mechanic Base, I specialized in advanced electrical and drivability diagnostics and competed in motorsport with Sellén Drifting. The mix of workshop experience and racing background shaped the practical, detail-driven approach that defines my writing today.
I launched Mechanic Base in 2018 to share real mechanical knowledge, with clear reasoning and step-by-step diagnostic methods, to help drivers and DIYers fix their cars with confidence. Every guide I write, or review, is based on genuine shop experience and verified testing.
